I Went Hunting for the REAL S4

I originally hadn't planned on diving into this, at least not anytime soon, but I realized after the sheer number of messages I've received recently asking me to go look for S4, that the story of Bob Lazar really has captured the attention of the public in a way that other stories about Area 51 have not. In fact, for many people, he really put Area 51 on the map.

I can't say I blame anyone. I mean a story about secret hangars above a remote dry lake in the Nevada desert that contain captured extraterrestrial spacecraft that the government is trying to reverse engineer, it's sure to draw some attention. But you may not know that there actually is a place you can go view this remote lake bed for yourself. Anders here with Uncanny Expeditions and it's been a personal goal of mine now to climb every notable mountain peak around Area 51 in the NTTR

Today I'm going to be embarking on a journey to climb Mount Sterling which is located within the Spring Mountain Range. This is going to be a pretty long and pretty remote climb but the unique thing about this mountain is that it's one of the few places where you can actually get eyes on the Papoose Dry Lake bed and the Papoose Mountains behind it. Now this is of course where Bob Lazar claimed that the secret S4 facility south of Area 51 is located.

It's definitely going to be something where you need high powered optics to see it. You're looking at about a 46 mile distance between the mountaintop and the lake bed. It's even harder to spot than Area 51 is from Tikaboo Peak. What do I actually think about this whole Bab-Wazar story? Well, I'll make my opinions on that clear throughout the video, but it's going to be an interesting and fun climb for sure. First things first, it's time to make a quick stop in the town of Pahrump.

So I stayed the night a little ways outside of town last night up this road called Wheeler Pass. There's tons of great BLM land to camp on up here and the elevation is a little bit higher to get out of the heat. First up, I was going to be re-upping on some of my supplies while I'm here in town and then I'm going to pay a visit to the grave and former home of someone who was pretty unforgettable in the UFO world and he lived right here in Pahrump. What's this, a new vehicle?

So I'm working on this little Toyota micro camper. I picked up this RAV4 and I figured out that it's basically the smallest vehicle that I can lay down flat in at six foot two. So I'm turning this into a little off-road micro camper so you'll see this make appearances in addition to my van and my motorcycle. I put a little lift kit on here too so it gets better ground clearance. Take the next right onto desert lane then you will arrive at your destination. All right

Art Bell was such a legend. I'm guessing most of you are probably familiar with who he was, but just in case you're not, he lived and broadcasted a radio show right here in Pahrump called Coast to Coast AM, and he covered all sorts of UFO, alien, paranormal topics. It was kind of a staple of late night radio. His heyday was definitely a little bit before my time, but I listened to so many reruns. He brought you some classics such as Mel's Hole. You had the famous Area 51 caller. Area 51 line, you're on the air. Hello.

Hello, Art? Yes. Hi. I don't have a whole lot of time. Well, look, let's begin by finding out whether you're using this line properly or not.

He even did an interview with Bob Lazar back in the 90s. But anyways, I'm going to make a quick swing by his home slash studio and also the place where he's buried here in Pahrump. So I'm just turning onto the street right now. It should be coming up here on my right-hand side.

Yeah, here it is. Looks like whoever's taking care of the place left most of the broadcast infrastructure up. If I'm not mistaken, it's still owned by somebody within the Bell family. I'm sure they don't like looky-loos coming through and harassing him, so I won't bother him here. Okay, so now I left his neighborhood. I'm going to pass through the Pahrump Town Cemetery here, and we're going to stop by Art Bell's gravesite. The man, the myth, the legend.

And here it is. People have left all kinds of little trinkets here, little aliens. I like that. This is actually the first time I'm realizing that Art Bell and I share a birthday, June 17th. How about that? ♪

Alright so I'm heading up the little 4x4 trail here. I'm going to go as far as I can and then set up a parking spot, leave the car there and

get my hiking gear together and go out on foot. I'm hoping I'll be able to get relatively close to the base of the mountain. Most of the trip reports that I've read from out here are from years ago so road conditions can change between then and now especially if there was a lot of rain. Damn, check out this massive antler I found. I'm gonna take this home and use it as a decoration.

Alright, well, I'm basically set. I managed to lose my lens cap and put a small chip in my filter all in the span of about 10 minutes here, so we're off to a great start. Anyways, got the backpack ready to go, got the tent, sleeping bag, all that good stuff. I just gotta head this direction and hopefully find the right trail and make my way up the mountain. Let's get to it.

Scientist Bob Lazar says there are at least nine of the flying saucers being tested and that they were not built on Earth. George Knapp has more on the continuation of our series on UFOs. Back when I was younger and I was first getting into the topic of Area 51 and UAPs and stuff, I was pretty captivated by the story of Bob Lazar and the S4 facility as so many others were ever since George Knapp broke his story in 1989.

His tale of secret hangars built into the side of the mountains above Papoose Lake, each containing a recovered extraterrestrial spacecraft powered by Element 115, was like nothing I'd ever heard. I even bought one of the tester's models based on his description of the craft that he worked on and I had such a blast putting that thing together and painting it. I actually bought it at the Little Alien believe it or not back when they sold those there. This would have been around 2007 or so.

As time went on and I delved deeper into the topics of Area 51 and UAPs, in general, my opinion began to shift a little bit. Is the Lazar story really believable? Is he really a credible whistleblower? Or is his tale one big fanciful hoax?

First off, let me say that I do believe in UFOs or UAPs and there definitely is something flying around in our skies that we can't readily identify. I do also believe that elements within our government know much more about this phenomenon than they let on to the public and there probably is some sort of crash retrieval program that has been going on for decades and decades.

That said, I don't know if I believe Lazar's account is really the best evidence for that. I definitely can't claim to be a physicist, but I've read many accounts from people who do hold physics degrees and they basically said that Lazar's description of how the craft operate is kind of complete nonsense.

I'm a big fan of Tom Mahood's writing on the Lazar subject. He publishes on his website, Otherhand.org, and reading his material really opened my eyes to what I think are some pretty glaring holes in his background and story. And he's written what I think are some pretty convincing alternatives to what Lazar asserts is the truth. I'll link his website below and I encourage folks to give it a read. The first problem arises when looking at his educational records, of course, or rather the lack thereof.

He claims to have received degrees from MIT and Caltech, but no evidence of that exists. He does not appear in any yearbooks and he was unable to name any professors. When asked to do so, he actually named instructors from his community college and his high school. Could the government have erased his educational records? I guess, sure, maybe, but I have a hard time believing they could erase physical yearbooks.

The next question that comes up is regarding his alleged employment at Los Alamos National Labs. Did he really work there? Well, I think the answer to this question is actually pretty positively a yes, though it looks like not as a physicist.

His entry in the phone book indicates he worked as a contractor for a company called Kirk Meyer, which didn't hire physicists. He likely spent a significant amount of time working there, enough to know the layout of the facility well and to become acquainted with the physicists there, but he himself probably worked as like an electronics tech or something of some kind.

Alright, so I'm going to take the right hand fork here and then when I get to the top of this little hill I think it's going to give me some level ground that I'm going to maybe pitch my tent on for the night. The actual summit is a little ways past that but we'll just see what it looks like when I get to the top I guess. But did Lazar actually work at Area 51? Now that's another question. I actually think he very well could have but again probably not in the role that he claimed.

Tom Mahood on his website otherhand.org goes into one possibility, namely that he worked in a technical capacity on some sort of a particle beam project that may have been being worked on at the base.

This particle beam project could technically be responsible for generating plasma balls which the exact purpose of this particle beam technology can't be 100% known but if Lazar had knowledge of this project it could explain how he was able to know the day and the time for the supposed test flights that he took John Lear and his other friends to witness.

A certain amount of this is speculation of course, but he may have used this inside knowledge to show them the objects or the plasma balls from this particle beam technology in the sky and he made up the rest of the details to impress John Lear who he knew was big into the UFO topic. I think when you uh when you kind of add everything up the thing that started to seem most likely to me is that

Bob probably did in fact work at Area 51 in some capacity, just not in the capacity that he claimed. You have Christopher Mellon, I believe it was on Joe Rogan's podcast. He kind of echoed something similar. He

He said that he actually contacted somebody at Area 51 because he has the credentials and the know-how being from his former position to be able to do that. And he basically echoed the same thing saying that, yeah, he worked there as like a low-level like badge checker or something like that. Now, I'm a little skeptical about his claims, I have to say. A friend of mine

claims to know the gal who was his supervisor when he worked out there and knows what he was actually doing and where he was located and claims that he was the guy who checked radiation on badges. That's it? Yeah. Never ends. All right, well, I think this is going to be my camp spot for the night.

I do have a really nice panoramic view out over the test range over there. It's too hazy right now for me to get any good footage so I'm thinking the viewing is mainly going to have to be in the morning, at least for the daytime viewing. We'll of course pull out the night vision and see what we see at night. But yeah, I'm going to go ahead and set up camp. I decided not to bring my stove with me this time. I just made an early dinner at my car before I left. Figured it was one less thing to carry up here.

There's some kind of an aircraft that's been out there flying circles for the past couple of hours over the test range. I can't really make heads or tails of what it is from this range but it could be a drone because there is a classified drone airstrip out that way. It could be a drone flight test of some kind. Not too sure.

Alright, so I think I woke up early enough to beat some of the heat today. So I went through a few of the red flags that stick out to me about the Bob Lazar story and the whole S4 thing. But if you do believe Bob Lazar, leave me a comment on this video and let me know what you think the best evidence to support his story is because I'm genuinely curious and you know maybe we can all learn from each other. I'll even play devil's advocate and say a couple things that stick out to me as as potentially good evidence in favor of his story.

You have David Freehoff, who was an SR-71 pilot at Area 51. And he gave an interview in which he mentioned that he remembered the S-4 facility down in the Papoose Mountains. And he said he worked with people that actually remembered Lazar at Area 51 boarding a bus to S-4. So unfortunately, he passed away in 2020. So he can't be reached for further comment on that. But

That is an interesting point in favor of Lazar's story. You also have the fact that George Knapp, I think he's a good reporter in a lot of cases and he stuck his reputation on Lazar so there is that. Ultimately those things aren't necessarily enough to move the needle for me personally but again I definitely want to promote discussion on this channel and if you do believe Lazar's story let me know down in the comments on what you think the best evidence is. Now let's see if we can find Papoose Lake.

So I've got my camera set up now. I'm aiming it off across the way, across the test range. Looking directly at the Bapus Dry Lake right now. It is pretty hard to see cutting through 46 miles of atmosphere. I will do some color and contrast adjustments in post. So if the hangars did exist they would be somewhere right in those hills that I'm pointing at right now. I can't say I see evidence of Bob Lazar's S4 facility but it would be a good place to hide a base given how remote it is.

Here's a panorama that I took. I'll link the full resolution file down in the description below so you guys can check it out for yourself. While I'm up here, I'm checking out some of the other NTTR facilities that I can see from this vantage point. Here's Mercury. It's a town that's fully located within the restricted zone. Mercury was originally constructed as a living area for staff working on the nuclear weapons testing out here. And that looks like the Area 51 infamous white bus.

There's some kind of dirt mounds over there. I'm not 100% sure what this facility is. So looking off this way, we have the DAF or device assembly facility. Now this place is pretty fascinating. The DAF is a highly classified facility that was originally built as an assembly plant for nuclear devices. Once underground nuclear testing ended, the DAF was repurposed as a facility for critical experiments. It's located within area 6 of the NTTR, which is a highly secure classified zone.

You can see a number of other structures in the hillside behind it there, also part of area 6. I wish I could get a better view of this place, but this is a hidden airstrip that's behind this hillside here. This is a classified drone test facility, also located within area 6. It's very hard to get a good vantage point on this place. Well, for my vantage point here on Mount Sterling, I wasn't able to see evidence of Bob Lazar's S4 facility on Papoose Lake.

The interesting thing is though, there actually is a confirmed S4 Site 4 facility located within the NTTR. The problem is, it's nowhere near where Lazar said it was. This classified facility is actually attached to the Tonopah Test Range, also known as Area 52. The next phase of my mission is to get eyes on this facility. As I made my way down Mount Sterling, I came upon a number of ancient petroglyph sites. If you're into history like me, these are really cool.

I love seeing the ancient rock carvings left by the original inhabitants of this land scattered around the rocks. They're remarkably well preserved because this mountain gets so little traffic. This reminds me of a place that desert drifter would have liked to explore. Ah look at this! I don't have to work for it, I got the moustache!

All right well I'm all done gassing up here and I'm about to get ready and make the long trek all the way around the perimeter of the NTTR. So I'm going to go up north from Vegas, cut over at Alamo, go down the ET Highway past Area 51 and then onward to Tonopah aka Area 52. Now the fact that there's a confirmed facility called Site 4 on the NTTR, that's kind of the nail in the coffin for me as far as Lazar's story. Like why would the government have two S4s basically like on neighboring facilities? I just

doesn't really make sense to me. But again, I'll let you guys make up your own mind. What I am gonna do right now is go get to a viewpoint where I can look down into the actual Site 4 and see what we see. As I leave the pavement and enter the vast expanse of desert that stretches out in front of me, I'm once again reminded of how beautiful this region is. The golden hour light touches the mountains in the distance and the trail that stretches out horizon to horizon.

It feels like a fascinating paradox that these ultra-secret research labs working on the most advanced weapons technology are buried deep within such a beautiful and majestic landscape. The Site 4 complex is situated within the Tonopah Electronic Combat Range. It's at the TECR that aircraft from Area 51 and other locations are flown and measured against a variety of electronic warfare systems.

The TECR is set up with ground-based radars, emitters, and jamming systems that simulate the types of threats U.S. aircraft would face in real combat. Wow that's kind of crazy. So those little dots you see moving way out there, I think I'm looking at some wild horses. They just let the horses roam through the test range because the perimeter isn't fully fenced. Some kind of a hangar or storage building there it looks like. I wonder what's in this building here. Looks like one of those tensioned fabric structures.

And it looks like a couple of base fire trucks are making a pass. There's one and here comes the other one right behind it. Here's a close-up look of one of the radar setups. It's kind of similar to what they used to have parked out by the Rachel Gate to Area 51. Now I'll pan over to my right and we'll take a quick look over at the Tonopah Test Range proper. There's a control tower with a little bit of ground activity, a couple white pickups. There's quite a few hangars at the Tonopah Test Range.

Government scientists has alleged that the US military is flying recovered UFOs at a secret base in the Nevada desert. Well, we didn't see any flying discs today, but we did get a good look at the real S4 near the Tonopah test range. Assuming Lazar did work at Area 51, he could very well have overheard talk of a Site 4 facility, but not known exactly where it was located since everything is so compartmentalized and it wasn't related to what he was hired to do. He then spun this Site 4 into the store we all know.

I plan on doing more snooping around Area 52 in the near future to uncover more of the mysteries that surround this place in the desert, so stay tuned for that. As for the existence of a facility at Papoose Lake, well, I'm always of the opinion that extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, and I have yet to see it.
