Hey everybody and welcome to a special

live episode of the DVC show coming to

you on a Friday because well, we didn't

really have any other choices. We were

running out of time if we're being

brutally honest.

>> Uh yeah, and my hair is a mess. But we

were leaving tomorrow morning and we're

gone for a week and we are actually

going to be out of shows. So instead of

leaving you with no show y

>> on one of the Mondays, we're we're going

to do a live show. And so we'll put this

up on probably this Monday, right?

>> Yeah. This will actually be live on

YouTube already, but for those audio

podcast listeners out there, uh it's

just Paul and Amy this week. Uh we are

leaving tomorrow morning for the Fourth

of July holiday week to head north to

West Virginia. Yeah.

>> Uh two cregers plus three doggos. Y

>> all in a Jeep, all traveling north for

the Fourth of July to visit some family.

We've got a cabin, so we're going to

kind of hang out. But figured one um

didn't want to leave you hanging without

a show here over the course of the

holiday week, but uh also there's been a

lot of Disney and Disney Vacation Club

news recently.

>> Oh, I feel like our timing is just so

bad right now because we did we put out

this whole show about staying cool at

Disney and I think that day or the day

before [laughter]

the the air conditioning broke at

Wilderness Lodge for several days. Um,

so yeah, and then we've got all this

news and stuff that we haven't really

chimed in on.

>> Did you notice I chose my Christmas

spiritual theme for the event tonight?

>> Yeah, happy summer.

>> Happy halfway to the holidays for sure.

>> But uh, yeah, excited to chat with you

all. Hopefully some of you are kind of

wrapping up a work week and sitting down

to dinner or having a nice drink to wrap

up your Friday. But wanted to kind of

chat through say like talk about what's

going on. What do you want to chat about

first, Amy? Um, oh well. Okay. So, up on

your screen, I can see the Saratoga

Springs. Did is this like a order of

things or

>> No, no, not not at all. I just pulled up

the news site.

>> I know there's more pressing things

going on,

>> but as soon as I saw that, I was

thinking about it. So, Disney gave us a

look into the newly refurbished Saratoga

Springs treehouse villas. So, they

they've they've started I the odds of

you getting a refurbished one right now

are pretty slim. I think

>> probably about one or two.

>> Yeah, not very many. But let me tell

you, they look I think they look

amazing. I'm a little sad they took the

bathtub out of the master bathrooms. It

was just a giant walk-in shower. Now, it

used to be it was a walk-in shower and

there was actually a bathtub inside

there. Uh but the things that they have

done because we stayed in one of these

for one of our DBC fan summerfest.

>> Yep.

um a few years ago and um some of the

our friends that help us and stuff with

the show stayed too. Um so Jeff and Amy

stayed in one of the bedrooms. Paul and

I took the the main bedroom and then

Jeff and Dan took the little bunk bed.

And when I tell you that that room was

like my days in church camp when I was a

kid, those metal bunks that just like

you could just were so wobbly. Um, so

they've they've really really done a

nice job. The the bunk room looks way

elevated. It's very pretty. The artwork,

the Disney touches. So, I'm just I'm

excited. I hope we can stay in one

again.

>> Yeah, we definitely need to book one

probably before the end of the year just

to kind of have an experience of what

the new one looks like compared to the

old one. But uh overall, I think we were

all a little bit concerned coming off of

like the Fort Wilderness cabins and

everything that they were going to maybe

remove some of that treehouse feel to

these. And I think that they did a good

job. It was a nice balance between um

the

>> It's perfect. It's got the rustic charm

still. And it's it's got

>> but they improved on the things like you

mentioned the book the uh the bunk beds.

the bunk beds are actually now pushed

over against the wall with some artwork

behind them rather than being like smack

dab in [clears throat] the middle of the

room and like towering over everything.

Yeah. So, um really overall a good

redesign and I think that anyone that

loves treehouse

>> and I think the best thing about them is

the point charts are still low. So, if

you're looking for a threebedroom in,

you know, for gosh, the the points are

so low. It's it's ridiculous for a

three-bedroom. Now, you know, obviously

you're you're kind of out of the way and

stuff, but but yeah. Anyway, I just

wanted to touch on that. We've got so

much news recently that we haven't even

um talked about on on camera yet. The

the Lakeshore Lodge. Um we got more news

about the water, I guess we'll call it,

I don't what's the word I'm like or

complex.

>> The wetlands.

>> The wetlands. Yeah. So, it is basically

um going to just really outshine I think

Beach Club in Storm Long Bay. Um and

we're going to have a very large lazy

river. We're going to have, you know,

like a kids splash area. We're going to

have um a large pool. And there's

there's some other things that I'm

missing, right? And and one of the

things I thought also was that was cool

was scenic walking paths um featuring

educational elements about like the

local wildlife and plants. Do you think

that might mean that we'll get the

walking path from Wilderness Lodge back?

>> I hope so.

>> That would be amazing. I So many people

have been asking for that to reopen for

so long. And I think it's just been it

went down before when this was

reflections, you know, seven decades ago

and then now moving forward, you know,

once this gets done, there's no reason

they shouldn't reconnect that. And I

think um although uh you know, the the

new uh

>> are the comments just popping up

automatically or This is This is down

below. If you want me to put one of

these up, you can tell me.

>> I want you to put that one up. This one?

>> The peacock one.

>> Which one?

>> That one.

>> This one. Okay.

>> Yeah. I just thought that was cool. I

stayed. It says

Rolf AZ. I stayed in the treehouse

villas in the 80s when peacocks were

roaming the grounds.

>> There were peacocks.

>> Never even knew that was a thing.

>> It's like Jamaica. [laughter]

But overall, so the wetlands is going to

be the entire pool complex here at

Lakeshore Lodge. Um they have the we're

looking right now at the Daydream River,

um which is the lazy river. Um we also

are going to have the feature pool area,

uh which this picture depicts. We've got

a nice water slide as part of that

feature pool, zero entry. Um the

perspective pond leisure pool in

Whirlpool Spa. So, this is actually I

don't think that we have an image of

this just yet or no, but this is

actually going to be uh on the other

side where we thought that they would

probably do another uh leisure pool type

experience. So, uh this is not the only

pool that will be at the resort, but

there'll be another one on the other

other side.

>> But this is the main one where the lazy

river will be located.

>> Yep. And then there's going to be the

Heron Shores dry play area and the Otter

Springs interactive water play area

which we did get some uh concept art of

uh here as I click on all the photos and

come back to us. There it is. There's

the that was the the photo we had. And I

love this the otter laying down um

amongst Do you see him kind of laying

down across?

>> Is that the thing we thought was a bear

originally?

>> We did think it was a bear.

>> Those are otter. They're squirting each

other cuz the water's coming out of

their mouth. That's cute.

>> And the theming for all of this is

coming and drawing inspiration from uh

Disney's Pocahontas. So, uh I I have not

seen anything come out of the news for

Lakeshore Lodge just yet that I have not

liked. I mean, I think that everything

has knocked it out of the park and I

just hope that they keep on plowing

ahead and giving and building the

excitement to this cuz I've not seen at

least kind of a community excited for a

new new DVC resort this much.

>> Yeah.

>> I this this resort I think is going to

sell well. I don't it's going to take a

long time to sell out because it's huge.

So, you don't have to, you know, worry

like, oh, it's going to sell out. I'm

going to miss it. But it is going to be,

I think, a little more popular than the

Riviera. You know what I mean? Cuz

Riviera is beautiful and all, but it

didn't have this this wow factor of this

>> water

>> water complex and Yeah. And those things

that draw people. Yeah. Now we've got

another Magic Kingdom Resort and

>> Yeah. So very cool, very exciting. And

it does say that the perspective pond

will have firework views. That's the

leisure pole. So on the other side,

yeah, you'll be able to see.

>> We actually in our Lure Lodge video when

we had some of that concept art, we

actually said that there looked like

there was going to be like some chairs

and a little seating area that was going

to be off to the side there. And

originally we were kind of like, I

wonder if that's going to look over

towards towards Bay Lake and towards the

fireworks. So, um, good to hear that

that's going to be the case. Um, yeah,

just amazing stuff here. Really cool.

>> Looking for the next what are they

calling them? Uh, letters from Lake

Shore. letters from

>> give us a little little more uh sneak

peek to what's going on over there at

Lake Shore.

>> Yeah, we're still waiting for restaurant

information,

you know, any kind of dining.

That's the that's probably the other big

one. And then what are the rooms going

to look like more or less? But

>> Mouse Mermaid, who is secretly Phil and

Pauline Murphy, uh came through and

said, "Do you get to climb on the

otter?" And I'm uh fairly certain the

answer to that is yes because there is a

child standing a kid at the top of this

one otter. I don't know about the the

otter that that has the water up you

know over to the right side of the

image.

>> No, but that water that otter is a slide

totally a slide.

>> Yeah, there's a slide coming off of him.

>> Yeah. So, um he he is totally uh going

to be climbable, I believe. So, that's

going to be going to be an awesome

element of of the resort. What do you

all think of Lakes Shore Lodge? you guys

excited? Um, you know, what uh what what

what kind of thoughts do you have about

Lakeshore Lodge?

Let's see. Uh Christine said, "Happy

Friday. Do you think Disney may have

this resort and water complex in mind as

they're starting to uh restrict resort

visits without reservations?" Yeah, this

has kind of been a buzz in the community

right now as to uh you know uh the

>> Yeah. Yeah.

>> What do you want to call it? I think

it's on our list gate.

>> Bus gate.

>> I don't know what you call

>> bus gate.

>> Um,

>> gingerbread gate.

>> As of right now, the way things stand is

Okay, so we have there's two parts to

this story.

>> Oh, you're going all the way in. Okay.

>> I mean, we might as well.

>> Let's sit back and relax. [laughter]

>> So, there's two parts to this story. So,

there's the original uh Disney Springs

news where if you are getting on a bus

to go to a resort from Disney Springs,

they are now checking um you know, your

Magic Band or whatever to see if you

have either one, a dining reservation

for the resort you are heading to, or

two, a resort reservation at a Disney

hotel, period. Any

>> or three, an activity or something.

>> Oh, yeah. An activity. So, like if you

were signed up to do like San Gria

University or but I don't know why you

wouldn't drive over and park there, but

um but the goal is to limit people who

come from off property that park and

potentially go to a resort and then use

it for like free parking to get to a

park. Yeah, that's probably the main

reason. But anyway, you can be staying

at any of the resorts. So, let's say I'm

at Disney Springs. I want to go on the

bus and go to um Port Orleans and get

bees and I'm staying at Grand Fian as a

DBC member. That's not going to be a

problem. They're going to scan my van.

They're going to see I'm staying on

property. They're going to let me on the

bus. That's that's the Disney Springs

role. That has not that's moved to

Disney Springs and the boats at Disney

Springs. Correct. It has not as of now

gone any further than that. Um, now what

a lot of people are talking about now is

the Christmas information that has come

out where, uh, Disney noted that, you

know, here's all the places you can see

decor and here's what's going on in the

parks. And then they talk about the

resort decorations and they specifically

say for those staying at a Disney

resort, we have, you know, the lobbies

are decorated, whatever. Um, so a lot of

people are are kind of speculating, are

we going to try to restrict, you know,

resort hopping, seeing the decor if

you're not staying on property? And the

answer to that is we don't know.

>> That language was actually there last

year as well. Um, because Carrie Krevel

did look it up for us and verified that

that same language was there last year.

Um, so we don't we don't really know.

>> I think it's a combination of things.

You know, I think we're all kind of a

little bit upset over the news that at

the Grand Fian this year, we're not

going to receive uh the gingerbread

house again. You know, they uh they

announced last year that they weren't

doing it because they were doing the uh

the perch the bird the bird cage bar.

>> And I think all of us at that time

thought, oh, it was going to come back

after that was completed. And uh lo and

behold, we get all of our holiday and

Christmas news this week, right? And

they've said that it's not going to come

back. they're going to do maybe some

smaller gingerbread installations around

Grand Fian. We might get some news that

uh a large gingerbread house has moved

to a different uh resort perhaps. We

just don't know. There's not enough

information out there yet. But I think

it's a combination of people uh we

obviously fixated on that language in

this year's article, but you know,

overlook the fact that it has been there

historically. So I I wonder if it's just

going down that mindset of Disney

Springs that following that same bus

kind of mindset and um you know if you

are a resort guest at any resort um you

should be able to you know get this is

not going to affect most of you because

most of you are traveling you're staying

at a Disney resort. You love Disney.

It's why you're here. Um so it's not

going to affect you. Uh it might affect

people like us that are local. Uh, but

more often than not, if we're there and

we're at a resort, we're usually dining

in one of the restaurants or staying on

property or otherwise we're at the

parks. So, yeah.

>> Yeah. My only thing with this has has

just been and I and I kind of said it um

uh Lauren Dela Cruz wrote a great

article over on DVC Fan earlier today

regarding this topic, but I I also was

talking to her and I just said I hate

what this potentially does to people

that would might might have their own

glimpse at some of these resorts.

>> And that's where it's hard because part

of you says, you know what, I get it.

the resorts, the lobbies, they can be

overrun. And I can see that if you're

staying there, you know, you pay a lot

to stay at those deluxe resorts. I can

see where that can be a a point of

frustration.

>> Um, and I can understand how this is

really good news. And then on the flip

side, I can understand that, too,

because, you know, for us, we our first

Disney trip was off property. you know,

we weren't able to to afford Disney

property at that time, but we were able

to see, you know, if we wanted to go to

one of the resorts and look around and

be like, "Oh, someday I hope to stay

here." And and yeah, to actually

experience it and have something to

maybe work towards or look forward to.

Um, we're leaving out that that those

people. So,

>> yeah. So, um, and going back to the

original question, is this related to

Lakeshore Lodge in any capacity? I don't

believe so. Um, you know, I don't

believe that Lake Shore Lodge is kind of

why they're doing these things,

especially that pool complex. It's going

to be policed just like Stormalong Bay

is probably policed these days, which is

that they're going to be checking you

doing kind of a wristband system when

you actually,

>> which they're starting to do that at

Port Orleans, I've seen recently. Mhm.

So, it Yeah. Which I can't remember

which which pool. Maybe both. I don't

know. But I I saw that in in some

Disney. doesn't seem to be a pool that

people would be breaking down the doors

for, but maybe I've not experienced it

enough.

>> Yeah, I don't know. It is a really cool

swimming pool. We just gosh, it's been

forever since we've been over there.

>> Couple of you in the comments are

talking about charging for parking at

Disney Springs. I think that would, you

know, overall that's just going to deter

people from going to Disney Springs in

general. All of those businesses and

everything in that strip would probably

lose a lot of money. And I imagine that

part of their rent subsidizes some of

that parking and the ability to uh have

those garages be Right. And yeah, and

and that's a big draw for people off

property to get some form of Disney. So

yeah, I don't think

>> I don't know that that's a great great

idea. It would it would be tough.

>> Y

>> um but yeah. No. Yeah. So that's that's

the bus the bus thing. Bus gate.

>> Bus gate. Gingerbread gate.

>> Bus gate gingerbread gate.

>> All that kind of stuff. And then for the

gingerbread thing, I think people were

torn on that too because it that lobby

was hectic and those lines were insane

to get you. I mean, I hope they still

sell the treats and stuff. Oh, but

that's a whole other can of worms

because there's an entire you know

demographic of people that are now uh

you know saying don't buy the treats and

you know we want the gingerbread house

back so don't buy any treats this year

which um I am torn because I do love the

bag of German treats. So,

>> my mom's dream has been to stay at the

Grand Fian. And I finally, we had extra

points and I was like, "Okay, I'm going

to book us a few nights at the Grand

Fian this December. Um, we're going to

get to see the Christmas decor.

Hopefully, the gingerbread house will be

there." You know, obviously it's not,

but that's not a dealbreaker. Like, she

gets to stay at the Grand Fian. And I'm

sorry, but if she wants the treats,

we're getting the treat [laughter]

because

>> it's her this is her dream. This is her

dream stay. Yeah. And I we did um we're

staying in Big Pine Key. We did a theme

park room so we can watch the fireworks

from our room. We're going to go to Cake

Bake Shop. I'd really like to get into

tea at Grand Fian when that opens, but

we'll see. That's been that's been a bit

a bit of a challenge

>> at the Grand Fian. And I still want to

do the the tea at Cake Bake Shop. Um, I

actually just came back from

Indianapolis uh this week and our DBC

rental store team was up there having a

retreat and we went to uh one of the

original locations of the Cake Bake Shop

and it was wonderful working with their

team uh through an event up there um and

they talked all about Gwendel and Rogers

and what inspired her to make the cake

bake shop. I didn't know this, but so

she was actually a baker originally and

entered a cake contest with her uh

Gwendalyn's famous chocolate cake.

>> The Earl Court one,

>> the Earl Court chocolate cake.

>> I want to try that one.

>> Won won the cake contest and with that

money from winning the contest is how

she then funded to start the cake shop.

So, it was a fun little behind the

scenes story of all that. But I'm a

sucker for a uh a tea experience for

sure. So,

>> I love it though.

>> Um [laughter]

So, also in uh Disney Vacation Club

news, we have uh a lot coming up here

for the Fourth of July. A couple

different events that have been

announced, man. Um first off, everyone

in the chat and out there, either go on

to the DBC fan Facebook group, put it in

the chat right now or if you see him

over the course of the next week, tell

Mr. Jeff Hasslam an amazing happy

birthday because

>> on the 4th of July,

>> he is a Fourth of July baby. So, happy

birthday to Jeff. And um you know, sorry

that we will be in West Virginia for

your birthday. We'll be sure to

celebrate when we get back in town, but

uh two events that have been announced

uh for Disney Vacation Club members for

the 4th of July. The first has been um a

another meet and greet happening at the

boardwalk. So coming back to the

boardwalk, I believe it's going to be at

the Atlantic Dance Hall. They keep

moving it back and forth between that

and the convention center, but

Wednesday, July 1st and Thursday, July

2nd. as long as you are a member

eligible for um uh membership extras and

I believe you must have a qualifying

reservation over one of those two days.

So if you have a reservation uh on July

1st or July 2nd and you qualify as a

direct member um then head over to the

the Atlantic Dance Hall between 11:00

a.m. and 1:00 p.m. These are small

events. They're going to give you a

couple treats. There's going to be

probably a few unique character meet and

gre greet experiences and then um you

know you'll go on your way but they're a

fun way that just kind

>> What's nice is that they they yeah at

first it it just started as Halloween

and then they did Halloween and

Valentine's Day. So now this is the

first time I think they've added Fourth

of July. Correct me if I'm wrong. So

it's it's nice that they continue to add

to these. They're little, but but it's

just a nice little um little park.

>> Slightly on the more controversial side

is news that

>> it's already sold out

>> that we just got today, which was that

they are doing another Fourth of July

dessert party happening at Top of the

World.

>> Wait, this is a dessert party?

>> Yes.

>> Okay.

>> This is identical to what we did in

2019.

>> No, no, no, no. The one we did in 2019

was way nicer. It had real food.

>> No, no, no. It says alcoholic,

non-alcoholic cocktails, selection of

appetizers, assorted desserts.

>> I was thrown off by the dessert.

>> They're calling it a dessert party

essentially.

>> I still I still I guarantee you the one

we did was better

>> because this one's more money.

>> It was the first one. It's also several

years later.

>> So this year they're actually doing it

for three different dates. July 3rd,

July 4th, and July 5th. All three of

those nights, Top of the World Lounge is

shut down for this event. Not sure how

many tickets they've sold. Yeah. So,

basically they sent emails to those who

qualified and I believed it was only

people that were staying at Montreal

resorts, DVC Monreal resorts on DVC

points. That's from from reading

comments and stuff from people who got

in. That's what it sounds like.

>> Good. Okay.

>> Um there was an email that went out

today. Y

>> and

>> it sold out very fast.

>> Yeah. I think that that email was only

they just it was just like open spots

that were left. Um and it sold out very

fast. And I think we we previously knew

that that the capacity of that venue is

extremely small. I know very small.

>> When we've looked into actually uh yeah,

we've actually looked into doing events

up there and it's been around 50 people.

>> Um back in 2019 they this they only sold

75 tickets actually for the event. Yeah.

>> And then it was $99 per person. Now it

is I believe it's $149 per per adult and

$99. 2019 was the year we did it.

>> 2019. July of 2019 is when we did the uh

>> Got it.

>> And it was a great event. I think it was

one of the first times they ever did

test kind of what a paid extra event.

>> We are talking seven years later. So the

inflation might be part of that.

>> But this does upset a lot of people. Um

it upsets, you know, people that

historically have stayed at Bay Lake

Tower that have you been uh used to

going up there. I know we've seen some

people in the DBC fan Facebook community

who were trying to get reservations just

for Top of the World for that night,

>> right? To do like the wicked windown,

>> kept getting mixed information from

member services on this and then you

have this announced all of a sudden and

even if you did just send it to the

people on the Montreal Resort, if

they're if they're limiting capacity,

we're talking about a very few amount of

people that are going to get to

experience this. It's a hot topic and I

and I get it, but at the end of the day

it's, you know, I think a misconception

is that Top of the World Lounge is paid

for out of DVC dues and it's not. Um, so

it's similar to if you look at just like

look at Saratoga Springs in the Turf

Club or look at um, you know, Tupelinos

at Riviera and they have you know they

can have a private events there too.

they do usually um you know it's it's

not paid for by the members. It's part

of like the hotel and I like the the

common I don't know how else to explain

it but it's it's it's not coming out of

your dues. So basically they can do

whatever they want with it.

>> Yeah. And they have slowly restricted

the access. You know over the course of

the past few years we've seen access

restricted and them claiming that resale

members can't use the lounge anymore.

Although again, it's like mixed access.

Um, the lounge has had the wicked

windown event and some other events

thrown up there. Uh, and none of those

are worthwhile in in our opinion at the

end of the day. If you really want to go

into the lounge, I would recommend you

go up.

>> There's still an observation area that

people staying at Bay Lake Tower can

still access. Um, so they basically

split that observation area. So, we're

not telling you you can't go up to the

level of Top of the World Lounge. They

actually rope off a section of that for

people that are in the lounge area. And

then you could actually stand and watch

the fireworks from up top. I don't know

if that's going to be the case on the

Fourth of July night, but that's a

regular night. And then after you watch

the fireworks, like happily ever after

on a regular night, then just try to go

into the lounge cuz normally any of the

reservations are done by that point and

they're still open for another hour. So,

you can still go in, grab a drink, grab

a bite to eat if that's something that

you want to do uh in in the lounge area.

So,

>> yeah.

>> And we got uh Christmas party dates and

Jollywood dates.

>> Yes, we do.

>> What are you excited to do this year?

>> I guess my question is what are we doing

this year? So, last year we did both. We

did

>> and we skipped the Halloween party and

the year before that we did the

Halloween party and skipped both

Christmas parties, right? So, what is

your plan this year?

I want to at least do Jollywood

personally.

>> Okay.

>> I I still

>> I like Jollywood better. So,

>> and I feel like Jollywood just the

newness of it hasn't [clears throat]

worn off yet. It's still very new. It's

it it it it is fun. It has a little bit

more of an adult vibe to it compared to

uh the Christmas party. Not that, you

know, there's kids that definitely go to

Jollywood because it's a great after

hours event.

>> Um but yeah, I'm excited for that. We

may still go to the the the other

Christmas party. I don't I like

Christmas so much and there's not enough

time. We need to start Christmas now.

[laughter] Is can we put up the tree?

>> No.

>> Okay. Well,

>> well, I love fall and fall starts in

like August here. So, it's next like

it's in a month. Um

>> that means Halloween's going.

>> I do. The thing about Jollywood is that

I miss that you get at the Christmas

party are like the cookies. Going and

getting all the cookies are fun. Is fun

for me. Um, and then I always bring my

mom like the gingerbread iced ones

because she loves them.

>> And your mom just does laps. She gets

more and more cookies if we take her

with us.

>> Yeah. When I brought my mom, she just

would do laps and we would just get

cookies.

>> But Jollywood's very, very fun. So,

>> had a question come in regarding sales

for tickets for the Christmas parties

yet. Um, those have been announced and

I'm pulling it up real quick. I believe

it's the week after the 4th. Those are

going to go on sale. So, uh, tickets go

on sale July 9th, um, for those that

have a Disney resort hotel reservation,

um, or Swan and Dolphin, Shades of

Green, um, and then general ticket sales

begin on July 16th. And if you want to

save on your party tickets, whether it

be the Christmas party or Jollywood

Nights, Unlocked Magic is offering up to

$15 off uh holiday party tickets, and

those will become available on that

general registration date on July 16th.

>> Yeah.

>> And I really I don't don't really see

anything sell out during the resort

registration time. Like we've never had

it. We always do general because we're

local. So, um, but yeah, so hopefully

you guys can go and and enjoy those. And

we had all that Halloween stuff like

what that was just like a month ago,

wasn't it? The Halloween.

>> So, we've got

>> the holidays are upon us, folks. Whether

you're ready or not,

>> they're coming fast.

>> Last but not least in terms of our news,

and then we'll take some of your

questions. So, if you've got some

questions for us, put it in the chat.

We'll get to as many as we can here over

the next half hour or so. But um last

news which I feel like we've been

waiting around for the longest has been

any type of news related to Disney's

Boardwalk. And finally we got a little

bit glimmer of information. Uh some of

which was a hit, some of it glimmer. We

didn't get a whole lot

>> more for the future. But um the most

concrete things that we learned about is

that um we have the Hurly Burly which I

have lots of questions about that name.

The name is Yeah.

>> But um the Harley Burley is going to

take over the area that used to be Jelly

Rolls. And if you look at this picture,

it looks just like the stage uh where

Jelly Rolls used to be. That was that

dueling piano bar that used to be on the

boardwalk. And the Hurly Burly is going

to be a new entertainment lounge and

live music v venue. Um Disney's

information about this said that it's

inspired by the historic by a historic

seaside theater. During the day, it'll

offer familyfriendly activities,

including trivia and games hosted by

entertainers. And in the evening, the

space transforms into an adults only

lounge featuring live music, cocktails,

and light bites.

>> Okay. So, I looked the word up. Have you

ever looked it up?

>> No.

>> So, it's in the Webster's dictionary.

>> Interesting.

>> Uh, so hurly burly.

>> No, I did look this up.

>> Is a noun and it means a scene of noisy,

disorder, confusion, commotion, and

turmoil. [laughter] I did look this up

because I said that DBC Dan does not

enjoy a hurly burly. Um uh and

>> so captures the feelings of a chaotic,

bustling or busy environment. First

first used in Shakespeare.

>> It's a great I mean a Hurly Burly would

be a definition of what Jelly Rolls used

to feel like because it was a chaotic

environment.

>> But this doesn't seem like that. This

seems like a chill jazz club.

>> It does. I'm interested in like the

music styles that will actually be here,

like um what type of tunes they're going

to play. I assume hopefully some Disney

hits that would maybe draw some people

in.

>> Uh I still miss the dueling pianos vibe,

but like

>> it was cool, but I didn't like the cover

charge. I didn't like how crowded it

got, so I don't know.

>> Although I think there's more of a cover

charge here because you're going to I

mean I I imagine you're going to

probably have to reserve a table if you

want to sit down for the lights.

probably not going to be like a walk-in.

It's probably going to have to do a

drink or something to sit down at

>> I'm fine with buying a drink. I'm fine

with like a food and beverage minimum. I

just don't like a cover charge. Um that

they are going to have trivia and stuff

during the day. I imagine that's not

going to cost you anything.

>> Maybe some activities. That's going to

be a big win for families uh with kids.

have like an air conditioned area at the

boardwalk where people could go inside,

do some activities if they're just doing

like a pool

>> and resort day. So, that is the biggest

win of this venue. But it also leaves me

questioning overall like we still have

the Atlantic Dance Hall which is just

what?

>> Well, it's where you go and bust the

move. You're not going to do it here

with all these

>> We're going to bust in there. Uh

[laughter] Lauren uh Dela Cruz actually

had a had a great point when we were

talking about the Atlantic Dance Hall

though. It it does get booked a lot for

conventions or um any type of

activities. Um the wedding uh Disney

weddings uses that uh space a lot. So

maybe it's doing okay enough that they

don't make it into something else uh by

all of that. Also coming to the

boardwalk in what I called a major miss

is uh Basin, which is um the soap store

that features handcrafted soaps, bath

bombs, body butters, botanical bath

salts, shampoo bars, lip salt. I'm just

going to keep on going. Um but uh Disney

is also saying that there's going to be

an interactive element to kind of making

your own product as part.

>> I don't know, but there's there's a

basin at Disney Springs. There's a

there's a basin at Grand Vidian. I don't

even I love bar shampoo and conditioner

and I don't like theirs. I've bought

basins and it's expensive and it's not

that great. So,

>> so we were I I I was up in Indianapolis

this week as I mentioned with our we had

DBC rental store team and we went to a

place called Penn and Beach and

immediately upon entering I said this is

what the boardwalk needed if you wanted

some sort of venue where you sold

something of this nature because a pen

and beach is make your own candles. So,

you get to, you know, choose from

multiple different scents. You then

actually mix the scents and make your

own candle and then it sits for a day

and then you pick it up the next day and

you have a you have a nice keepsake to

take home. And I thought what if a place

like that could do something creative,

have some very unique vessels that are

Disney themed.

>> Yeah. And the candle's really nice

looking you brought home.

>> And then also um they do drinks. So you

can have a cocktail, you can have a a

beer, wine, um some uh champagne. So you

sit there, have a drink, and make

candles. And I I just immediately went

to this thought of like we didn't need

another basin. That would have been like

a really cool thing. That would have

been a nice addition.

>> Could you imagine if they actually had

the scents from the resorts?

>> Like you could make your own beach club

candle. And I know we have companies

that sell like dupes, but you if you

actually were getting like the real like

sort of the real thing,

>> it would just it would be a cool memory

to have. And I don't know. I I just

think that that was

>> are on it and some aren't. And I just

think that would be really cool.

>> We just don't need another

>> We are We are getting a quick service.

>> We are.

>> And I you kind of were like, eh, but I

think that's I think that's fantastic

news. I think the Borbach needs a larger

quick service with places to sit that

aren't outside in the sun. Um, so I'm

really excited about it.

>> What do you think it's going to be

though? What kind of food?

>> Well, okay. Well, we've already got

sandwiches covered at the Boardwalk

Deli. I I always forget. It was used to

be Bo Bakery, now it's Boardwalk Deli.

Um, and then there's also sandwiches at

that little coffee place. So, probably

not that, but I don't know. I guess I

guess I don't know what the boardwalk

needs. So, let us know what does what

kind of quick service.

>> Yeah, let us know in the chat what

you're thinking.

>> Basic. It doesn't have to be. It could

have like flatbreads and it can have

>> we already have pizza.

>> Oh, that's true. We do have

>> we have we have corn dogs and we have I

just feel like the major food groups are

kind of covered. So, I'm like what

direction would you go? M like

>> you could maybe go Philly cheese steak

>> food out there. That would be good.

>> Or maybe more specialty hogies. Um,

>> but it can have a quick service at

Disney is typically like a variety of

things.

>> So, you're saying just chicken tenders

and

>> Okay. There's no burgers where there's

no burgers over there.

>> True.

>> So, burgers, cheese steaks, grilled

chicken sandwiches. Um, okay. Now, I

need things that aren't sandwiches cuz

we do have [laughter]

I don't know

stuff. They'll think of it. They'll

figure it.

>> Lauren said, "Uh, basic chicken strips,

burgers, or fried seafood." Oh, okay. I

love this idea. I love the idea of

seafood. Now, would you love to be in

that room directly above uh Big River

Grill area and have that fried seafood

smell uh seeping into your No. Yes.

That's where my head went.

>> I lived I lived in a room in my first

college dorm room that was like when you

open the door, the the cafeteria vent

was like right there. [laughter]

Oh, I like this cake. We need cake bake

to open a gumbo window.

>> Oh, okay.

>> Or just soups in general. Yeah.

>> Yeah. Now you're talking.

>> Nothing like a hot steamy soup when it's

>> I'd be cool with the with New Orleans

food even though that has nothing to do

with the boardwalk.

>> We used to go to the Wildwood Boardwalk.

that said Wildwood, New Jersey for any

uh southern New Jersey out there. Um but

yeah, we grew up going there a lot. So

that's like where my head goes. I'm like

walking down the boardwalk thinking

about like what would be something

>> Yeah.

>> that that I would want to eat there.

>> I don't know.

>> Let us know. Yeah. What are you

thinking?

>> Shrimp Poys.

>> Shrimp Poys. Um Italian hot dogs.

Someone said it would it'd be nice to

have Disney quick service on the

boardwalk for food allergies. Not much

Disney owned around there. Um, Big River

famously didn't have friars and some

speculated that was because the rooms

were above. I would imagine I would

imagine that was probably

>> And you don't need a fryer to make a

really good grilled shrimp. Poboy.

>> Uh, deep fried Twinkies. We got taffy.

We got I can imagine Derek talking about

the the smells like Cake May Cafe. Yes,

that is very true. Um, Primo Piato, like

higher quality. Boardwalk Deli is not

that great. You got a phone call.

>> I could go for like maybe like a higher

quality like sandwich place. Like I'm

thinking like primohogy type like

something that's a little bit more

elegant.

>> They're like slicing it right on the

>> That's all we want is people slicing

meat on on rolls all day long.

>> Listen, there's they have they have lots

of option. It doesn't have to be one

type of food. It can be a variety of

stuff. So,

>> it does.

>> I'm all about it. I I think the quick

service is a great idea. And there's

lots of seating.

>> Spanish food. Paella and stuff. Italian

beef. Ooh, the beef.

>> Okay. Italian beef. I like that. Oh,

wait. Right below it. Red Baron pizza.

>> Red. [laughter] Yeah.

>> Curly fries.

>> Curly fries. Funnel cake. Fresh squeeze

lemonade.

>> Oh, I like the asai.

>> Portillos. Um, we're going to bring in

one of our resident foodie experts here.

Um, the one, the only, the honorable

Jeff Hasslam has finally joined us. Um,

at the top of the show, Jeff, uh, I I

messaged Jeff and told him we were going

live and he said, "Well, I'm 10 minutes

from your house or about an hour from

home. Um, you you [laughter] did that

hour really good. That was a quick hour,

Jeff. We

>> we shouldn't talk about it."

>> The the police could be watching. We we

would have we would have had you here,

but our house is chaos as we get ready

to to hit the road tomorrow morning. But

um

Quick Service?

>> I heard chicken tenders and that's why I

joined. So, no, I'm just kidding.

>> That was the magic word for you? Yeah.

>> I guess there aren't any chicken tenders

over there, huh? There are no

>> I would like anything. I would like

anything where you can go and sit in the

coolness and eat it rather than having

to go outside and then go down for a

just subpar sandwich or pay way too much

for French onion soup a little further

boardwalk. So

>> people are telling you happy early

birthday just so you know.

>> I saw that everybody that's so nice.

>> Someone keeps calling you Hoola Hasslam

too and I'm not sure where that came

from.

>> I remember that in a show. I don't

remember why but I do remember it. the

has [laughter]

like the fawns.

>> Jeff, we've covered the gamut here in

terms of a lot of our topics tonight

already, but um what were some thoughts

that you had that you really wanted to

make sure you shared with the audience?

>> Yeah, I just kind of wanted to circle

back to to Gingerbread Gate or whatever

we're [laughter] calling it.

>> Gingerate and you guys did a great job

and and and Lauren did a great job on

her article this morning. I just I kind

of wanted to to just really briefly

touch base on a couple of things that I

think

wide angle lens, you know, like bigger

picture, you know, you guys touched on

it briefly.

Listen, it it's a hard thing because we

the everybody in this room has been at

the Grand Flidian on December 15th when

it's absolute chaos.

That's not fun for anybody that's

staying there and I totally understand

that. But I kind of feel like

limiting

access is in this way maybe isn't the

best approach, you know, and and I and

I'll kind of equate it to something I

thought of in the car today of Black

Friday is also madness anywhere you go,

but the Best Buy in Hane City isn't

checking my ID to make sure that I came

from Hayne City. You know what I mean?

like my money should be good anywhere.

You know, we're locals. I I think we're

probably the target of this more than

than the people staying, you know, over

on iDrive or or something like that. I

think, you know, percentage- wise, I

don't think this is going to do as much

as they hope it will. Um and so I I kind

of feel like

maybe they could have done something

different. virtual cues, you know,

priority during certain hours for resort

guests. There's a lot of different ways

that that Disney has done crowd

management rather than just saying, you

know, we really liked Jeff and Paul and

Amy coming to the gingerbread stuff and

stocking up for Christmas, but your

money's kind of no longer good here

because you're not staying here this

time. And I spend a lot of money in the

resorts at Christmas time. That's where

I get all my Christmas shopping done.

So, that part of it bothers me a little

bit. And and to kind of equate it, you

guys were kind enough last year to

invite us to the Gaylord Palms for the

ICE,

you know, thing that was fantastic. Yes,

it was an extra cost. But what that did

is it got me in the door at the Gaylord

Palms that I probably otherwise would

have never done

>> and it made me want to stay there. I

looked at the pool. I looked at the

shows. It looked like Vegas right here

in Orlando.

>> And so I kind of feel like you guys

touched again on this a little bit. None

of us our first day at Disney was on

property,

>> right?

>> But being able to walk into these places

and experience that and go, you know

what? I think maybe I want to stay here,

you know? And so I just I don't like the

delivery and I don't like that it was

very ambiguous in the language and and

[snorts]

you know we keep hearing things online

and we don't need to to spread rumors

about

>> um [laughter] that's funny about what's

really happening and people have called

guest services and heard this and that

and the other. Um I went and parked at

the TTC the other day, walked over to

Polly and nobody gave me any trouble. So

you know what I mean? Like it it's

probably fine. I get it for big events,

the Fourth of July, if you're staying at

PY, you should have priority to that

beach. There's no question.

>> Yeah.

>> But if I want to go and spend my money

at the Grand Fian, if it's just the

crowded lobby that's the issue, number

one, they took away the gingerbread

house, so that is a moot point.

[laughter]

>> Yeah.

>> Number two, there's plenty of ways to

get around over there that you don't

have to go directly through the lobby.

So,

>> I'm not sure this restricting access was

was maybe the right way to go. I also

kind of wanted to touch on the Disney

Springs thing. That's been a loophole

that they should have closed years ago.

You know, people have been using that to

park for free for a long time.

>> I'm going to take the opposite side of

things that you guys did about the the

paying for parking because Universal

does it for CityWalk,

but

after six, it's free.

>> Oh,

>> you know, if if you're going there,

>> I don't know. It's just like the old

mall days. If you're staying on

property, you get a park for free. If

you're going there for a movie or to

shop, if you spend the $35 at World of

Disney that we would have cost for

parking, you get a validation on your

way out. You don't have to pay for

parking. I think that would have been a

better approach than to just say, you

know what, stay off our buses.

It just it just feels a little bit

entitled and a little bit elitist to me

saying

>> your your money's fine in this area, but

if you want to go over here,

>> no, that's not good enough. And really,

it's the Grand Fian that we're talking

about. I have never seen the lobby at

Old Key West overrun with people.

[laughter] I've never seen the lobby at

the boardwalk overrun with people.

>> And you can still leave Epcot and walk

around the boardwalk. And so,

>> I don't know. It just seems like a very

very heavy-handed fix to a problem that

I don't think is going to fix a lot of

problems. I think there's not enough

people staying at the Spring Hill suites

that are coming over and and crowding

the Grand Flidian lobby

>> as they think that that's just me

though, you know.

>> And I and I even think you could take it

a step further. It I mean what what is

hilarious to me is that all the

announcements this week you're supposed

to be generating excitement for the

holidays. And I'm sorry, but the news

took this a whole other direction. You

know, uh some of the some of the

headlines, what was the great one that I

saw earlier from

>> from one of the what I would call more

clickbay uh kind of news outlets? Disney

World confirms holiday disaster. Um

[laughter]

>> new Christmas party restrictions

out. At the end of the day, it's just

like you you took something that that

should be exciting and it turned into

this and it didn't have to be. I think

Jeeoff, to your point, there were

multiple other solutions uh to this

problem. My mind goes back to um when

the Christmas Tree Trail at Disney

Springs used to be located in a segment

of what was

>> a trail.

>> Yeah. Well, it was actually a Yeah, it

was actually a little, you know,

cordoned off area where it made it feel

cooler. That was also where Santa's meet

and greet was. So, I'm almost like, you

know, you mentioning the Gaylord Palms

and the ice concept. Why? Why not for

Disney do something at either a resort

or Disney Springs or somewhere else

where you have an area you either put up

a temporary large tent structure and

bring in um and and do a gingerbread

house or do a holiday village of sorts,

uh holiday shopping village, you know,

you've got there's convention space at

the Grand Fian if you but if you didn't

want it to be there, you could put it

somewhere else. Um, and I think you

could put it somewhere else and it would

have been the nice like, okay, we don't

want you necessarily at the Grand Fidian

because there are people spending

spending a lot of money uh to stay at

that resort. We don't want to overwhelm

that lobby like we have. So, we've

listened to those, you know, we've

listened to that feedback, but we also

want to give you this. And it it could

be a money-making opportunity. You a

place to sell your treats, a place to

sell a bunch of holiday merch. Um, I

just, yeah, just a missed opportunity

for a win.

>> And kind of looking down the road a

little bit, I

[laughter]

what I see happening next is now the

people on the internet that are mad

that you or that, excuse me, that are

happy that this is happening are going

to be mad now come October because all

the dining reservations are going to be

gone. You're not going to be able to sit

eat at Citricos. not going to be able to

eat in Naracuzzi's because all these

people that can't get in there any other

way are going to eat up all those

reservations. You know what I mean?

Disney's going to be fine with it.

They're going to have full restaurants.

But again, it's not the core solution to

the overall problem. The other thing I

want to say to the to the people out

there in internet world,

>> internet,

>> let's all settle down just a little bit.

We don't need to be wallet shaming

people. We don't need to I've seen

comments on Reddit and, you know, all

across many many things. things like,

you know, maybe they should work harder

so they can stay on property or maybe,

you know, they should just get a park a

hotel reservation so that they can be

like the rest of us. Whoa, we need to

settle down a little bit because there's

a lot of people in this world that walk

a different lifestyle. How do we know

these off-propy guests aren't here for a

convention and their and their work pays

for where they have to stay? How do we

know they're not here for a dance

convention and they have to stay with

their team? How do we know they're not

from Give Kids the World here on their

once in a-lifetime thing, but Disney

doesn't have the medical staff to handle

what you know what I mean? So,

>> yeah,

>> that's not wallet shameful. There's a

lot of reasons for people to stay off

property.

>> And there's a lot of families to give

kids to World Village

>> while not making it miserable.

>> And and there's a lot of people that

maybe don't have the money, you

necessarily have the money today, but it

becomes a part of that life. Like I I go

back to us. We stayed at a moderate

resort for so many years. We drove by

the Grand Fidian so many times. We drove

by the Polynesian. We finally had dinner

at Ohana. We finally got inside some of

these deluxe resorts. Then it was like,

"Huh, I wonder if DBC is attainable."

Then we crunch the numbers and it is.

And now, not only do we own a lot of

DBC, we're annual passholders. We spend

a lot of money with the mouse. So, uh,

you can't shut out these

>> potential future members, basically

these these these people that will be

spending money into the future with you.

Um, you know, maybe all that they can

afford right now is the Allstars, but,

you know,

>> things are going to get better. So,

>> yeah, I I agree wholeheartedly. So,

>> yeah. Uh, we also touched on uh

Lakeshore and the new the new water

parks there. Your big water park. You

were at a water park last night uh for

Moonlight Magic.

>> I was.

>> So,

>> I was I'm tired and a little sore. I

don't mind saying [laughter]

>> um

>> yeah, I think Lakes Shore is going to be

a big win. I think it's going to give

Stormalong Bay some good competition. I

think, you know, obviously this is going

to be a restricted pool. I it just like

Stormalong Bay. That's my opinion

anyway. I don't think you're walking

over from Wilderness Lodge to get in

there. But um

>> Jeff, you got more nicknames in the like

10 minutes you've been here than

[laughter]

>> I know. Watching it, too.

>> Uncle Jeff, I saw like Jeffy.

>> There's a lot.

>> Hula has we've called you a lot of

things over [laughter] over the years

>> Nothing's really stuck for very long,

>> But um but yeah, we touched on that. We

touched on uh the holiday stuff coming

up. Um Boardwalk stuff. We were wrapping

that up. I think recent that was that

was kind of one of the most recent um

things wrapping up. Not only the uh the

quick service restaurant, but the new

announced what's it called? The Woolly

Bully.

>> Hurly Burly.

>> Burley. That's it. I was close.

>> Woolly Bully.

>> You You guys covered that enough. I

don't need to comment on every single

thing that you talked about. I will say

that I'm really excited for the Advanced

Bath and Body Works that's coming over

there because [laughter] I could use

some overpriced soap

>> that I can't get anywhere else. Oh,

wait. Except I can and like three other

places. That's a short bus ride away.

Unless I can't go there because I'm not

staying there, you know. I don't know it

>> that's going to be every resort's going

to have to have the same six stores

because you can't go to any other

resort. So,

>> exactly. That's going to be exactly what

we uh what we got to a lot of part

people in the chat have brought up pool

hopping and stuff like that. Pool

hopping really hasn't returned since uh

the pandemic. I think that was their

>> and that's I think that's fine. I mean

yeah that's the I I if you're staying at

a resort, you should be able to enjoy

the pool without a bunch of

>> It was cool. I'm okay pool hopping. I

think

>> right it's not necessary. Every resort

has a pool. Stay in your pool. You'll be

fine. I think that was

>> Yeah, I really think when it comes down

to this resort hopping thing, there's a

difference between amenities and you

know, pay to use pools, you know, those

types of things that should be as a part

of your your stay.

>> Yeah.

>> Restaurants, bars really should be open

to anybody that wants to spend money

there.

>> Yes, exactly. It's

>> kind of where I sit.

>> Yeah. Well, and also like you wouldn't

have any business if the restaurants

were only for people staying there. Oh,

places like Geyser Point that rely on

walkups,

>> right,

>> that don't even take reservations would

cease to exist because there's not

enough people at Wilderness Lodge eating

there. So,

>> uh, I have not published this article

yet, but I do plan to next week. Um,

>> Member Magic Beyond had a really

interesting survey that went out to some

members very recently. Um,

>> apparently not us.

>> Not not to us. I don't know if I've

talked to either of you really in depth

about this too much, but um

>> really interesting uh kind of survey

that asked many different things. First

is writing on the wall, which is

something that we figured would be

coming eventually, which was the

question of if all of the current

benefits of Member Magic Beyond stayed

the same, would you pay $19 for it next

year?

>> Like an extra $9.

>> It's extra $10. So 99 now it would be

109.

>> Um which I think you could go back in

time and we all said that this was going

to go up in price.

>> I would pay more for better benefits. I

would pay way more than 109 if the

benefits were better.

>> Okay. So let's talk through the benefits

because that was

>> not for the same

>> and and that's where I think the people

talking about this survey went both

different ways was that people thought

that all these other benefits that they

alluded to in the survey were maybe

going to be uh you know as part of that

initial cost. I read it completely

different direction and I said that the

109 was probably the baseline and then

if they added some of these other things

>> that they might uh they might increase

the the price even further. So we'll go

down the list real quick to kind of just

round us out for tonight. Um but uh Jeff

Amy we'll go one at a time. Um would

this move the needle for you at all? You

can't read them in advance. Don't be

reading.

beverage at a DBC resort lounge per year

of your membership.

>> Just one drink a year.

>> Guess it depends on how much more I'm

paying for it.

at a DVC lounge?

>> Um,

>> at a DVC resort lounge? DVC resort

lounge.

>> Lounge.

>> So like Yeah.

>> So if you were at at Boardwalk, maybe it

would be

>> that would depend on the cost because

I'm not stupid. If I if you're charging

me an extra $50 and all I'm getting is

an extra drink that costs 15 or you know

what I mean? Like I'm going to do the

math on that one. But but the the

discount one, they can probably mess

with my head.

>> Kind of same principle that I said. Um

an exclusive Disneyland lounge character

experience. So it sounds like uh the

next there were a couple in here that

were definitely geared towards

Disneyland and kind of trying to mimic

some of the things to maybe get some

more West Coast owners on board. doesn't

move the needle for me.

>> No.

>> Priority access to select high demand

experiences at Alani, including the

luau. I don't think the luau is hard to

get.

>> It wasn't. It was really easy to get. We

have the luau book.

Priority Pass uh through an AMX card

that we had for for a period of time.

>> Yeah, we went to a Seattle airport

lounge. Um my only thing here was uh

when I this article that'll go up um you

know, next week uh down the road here, I

kind of just said uh Priority Pass is

different depending on like what level

of membership you have. So some people

if they have like it's a network of

lounges but if people have access to

that specific lounge then you're kind of

like not

>> not high on the list to get in if it's a

busier lounge. Additionally there were

had yeah I either had to pay for you or

you had to be an additional card holder

through the credit card benefit. So, I

wonder now with this, would it just be

membership.

was that at first glance it sounds like

a tremendous value. However, Disney

Vacation Club members already receive a

significant discount on Owner's Locker

Deluxe delivery plan. Um, they can get

that for $112.50

right now just as just a direct benefit

instead of the $225 annual price.

>> No. So, are we shifting a benefit or is

it even better than that one

>> or are you getting even more than that

one? Because if you're shifting,

>> did you say a discount on owner's locker

or an actual owner's locker? Like, all

all it said was a membership. So,

>> maybe you got a whole free membership,

but don't you have to pay for

deliveries?

>> You do have to pay per delivery, but

that that

>> you get you get one a year if I remember

right. Any more than that, you have to

pay.

>> Okay. I don't know. That's intriguing

for people. So, I think that could be a

valuable.

>> A lot of people in the chat have been

saying, you know, um exclusive access to

Moonlight Magic or advanced access to

those special events. Uh they didn't go

that far in the survey, but they did say

dedicated areas and bonus perks at DVC

events. Yeah,

>> I don't think you can give you can't

they can't go around in these

presentations

and tours with potential

members that they want to buy in and

say, "Moon Magic, here's one of the

perks that we have that you don't get if

you buy direct." And then, you know,

follow up with, "But

most people get in have to pay for this

extra benefit." You know what I like and

they're not going to say that, but

you're going to be poed if you find out

like, "Oh, I have to pay this extra fee

in order to even stand a chance at

getting into Moonlight Magic." So, I I

don't think they'll go that far. Um, but

yeah, you can see that they're trying to

just kind of bring something related to

the events into it.

>> Yeah, maybe a roped off area for

fireworks or a special character

greeting or

>> Yeah, but those fireworks are so easy to

see at those events anyway. So,

>> discounted travel insurance.

covers like annual dues because that

that this was probably going in that

same direction of you'd get like maybe a

coupon or something for like one

complimentary alcoholic drink on a

Disney Cruise Line sailing that you just

paid 6 to eight grand for.

cruises anyway. So I don't

And last but not least, and this was um

for the West Coasters, uh the ability to

exchange points towards a Disneyland

Magic Key annual pass, which I think if

you are a West Coaster and you do you do

like the current Walt Disney World

annual pass

>> because they do that for Disney World,

they should be doing it on that coast as

well.

>> I I think you should just be able to buy

an annual pass at Disneyland because

what I mean? So

>> yeah. Um, yeah, in the in the article in

general, I kind of said, you know, the

dining discount is the one that

everyone's been waiting. I

dining benefit mimics tables in

potentially what's going to what's going

to be here, what what would you pay?

What would you be willing to pay for

member Magic Beyond?

>> Um, how much was does anyone remember

what was Tables and Wonderland?

>> Oh, I we never bought it. We actually

>> 170 something. I feel like

>> we immediately had looked and and then I

I believe that's what started the

pandemic was us deciding.

>> I want to say it was like 170 something.

For some reason I have that number in my

head, but I bet the people in in the

chat know. Um and you made me take my

glasses off so I can't see anything

they're saying. But but you have to you

have to think about inflation

because that was you know what 7 8

whatever years ago

um that we had it

>> before the program was paused the tables

and wonderland dining discount card was

priced at 150 for Disney Vacation Club

members and 175 for Florida residents.

>> Okay, I remembered the 175. See I

remember that. Okay. Um, I think you got

to take into, so if we're talking, it's

like a tables in Wonderland where you

get 20% discount at pretty much most

every restaurant, including alcohol.

Um,

I would pay 200 bucks a year for that

with with all the other benefits that

come with,

>> even though those don't really do much

for me.

>> Yep. I I think you price it at 199. I

think you could potentially within a

year move it to$2.49. Yeah,

>> for those of you asking what Tables and

Wonderland was, it was basically a

discount savings card for um on on

property uh food and drink purchases.

So, it was 20% off of your food and

drink at basically every Walt Disney

World restaurant. Um

>> I don't think quick service. Not quick

service. Yeah. But but all the table

service and so

>> significantly increases your your dining

discount. It was only purchasable if you

were a Florida resident or a direct DVC

member. Yeah. And the pricing varied

based on which of those you were.

>> And here's the thing. Ultimately, we've

seen a lot of moves by Disney in the

past year that have suggested they're

struggling putting, you know, butts and

seats in these table service

restaurants. Uh they

>> It's so weird to me because sometimes

I'll look and there's no reservations at

these places. But you're right. Like you

walk by and they're not that full.

>> No. Yeah.

>> And we when we've the places we've eaten

at have not been

>> and that seems to be why they're doing

now the deluxe they're doing the deluxe

Disney dining plan again. They're

bringing that back. They're doing all of

these discounts at at table service

restaurants. So like this is another

easy win that also you're making a

little money on.

>> Yep. Oh yeah.

>> Well, and I've even heard that through

the grapevine that they are being much

more aggressive with no-shows and

charging those no-show fees where

sometimes they let it go or if you

called in after the fact and say, "Hey,

we you know

>> Yeah.

>> from what I've heard, I haven't

experienced it personally, but they are

charging those fees for people that

aren't showing up for their dining." So,

>> yeah.

>> Well, cool. That was a fun one since

neither of you knew about it and I got

>> Yeah. I didn't I didn't know anything

about that. How did you find out about

it? Did someone

>> um we had Yeah, there were there were

multiple reports um within the community

of of people that have received the

survey and some people shared uh some of

the uh some of the surveys topics. So um

I'm glad they're thinking about it now

ahead of you know we're we're about

halfway through the 2026 year. So I hope

that if they do decide to do this they

announce it a little bit earlier than

than last year. Last year they waited I

think until like December to announce

like the what the

>> new benefits were which none of the new

benefits were anything to really you

know write

>> no we can't forget to get our Alani

just for this Alani photo this year

and then in between all of that,

Halloween starts and we're going to

probably go take advantage of some of

reviews with Jeff and Amy and and uh and

kind of coming up. I feel like we're

just like starting the engine on our on

our summer here.
