Over the next several weeks, our staff

This is a balanced budget with no tax

increase. That achievement required

discipline in a year marked by sharply

rising insurance costs of a lot volatile

excuse me fuel market and inflation that

continues to streng nearly every

municipal service. Even with these

pressures, we protect our residents from

a tax burden that they should not be

asked to carry. We accomplished this

through strong fiscal management and a

willingness to bring more work inhouse.

This year alone, we paved the 101

streets, the highest total in more than

a decade. Our expanded in-house paving

program continues to save money and

deliver better results. The same is true

Out of approximately 30 demolition

projects, half were completed by our own

public works employees, allowing us to

eliminate dangerous structures faster

employees. The grant will ensure a safer
