YouTube transcript generator
Paste a YouTube link and get the full transcript with timestamps. If the video has captions, YouTLDR uses them. If it has none, YouTLDR transcribes the audio (videos up to 5 hours). Then search it, translate it into 125+ languages, or download it.
Pro costs $12/month and is required to process a new video (up to 10 transcripts and 10 summaries a day). There is no free plan; public transcript pages are free to read.
Get a transcriptHow to get a YouTube transcript
- 1
Paste the link
Paste the YouTube URL on the YouTLDR home page.
- 2
Read and search
The transcript opens with timestamps. Search inside it to find a word or quote, and click a timestamp to jump to that moment.
- 3
Download or translate
Download as Text, Doc, CSV, CSV (detailed), SRT or VTT, or translate it first. You can also change how often timestamps appear.
Do you need a transcript generator at all?
Often not. YouTube shows the transcript of any video that has captions for free: in the video description, click Show transcript. Copy it from there if that is all you need.
A generator helps when the video has no captions, when you need a file (SRT or VTT for subtitles, TXT or DOC for notes), or when you want it translated or summarized.
