Israeli Airstrikes Hit Yemen Airport, Journalists Killed in Gaza

Israeli airstrikes have rocked Yemen, with the main international airport in Sanaa coming under fire. The head of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, was present at the airport and about to board a flight when the strike occurred. Though he was unharmed, an air crew member was injured. The Israeli military has confirmed the strikes, stating they targeted Houthi military infrastructure used for smuggling Iranian weapons, also including power stations and ports. This is the second Israeli strike on Houthi targets in Yemen in less than a week, amidst an increase in Houthi missile launches on Israeli territory. Houthi rebels have vowed to continue attacks until the end of the war in Gaza.

Meanwhile, in central Gaza, five journalists were killed in an Israeli strike on a marked broadcast van outside Al-Oda Hospital. The Israeli military claimed the individuals were members of a terrorist cell posing as journalists. The news correspondent in Jerusalem reported dramatic footage from Sanaa International Airport, showing people in a panic and commercial flights still landing despite damage to the facility. The Israeli leadership has indicated they intend to target Houthi leadership, similar to their approach with Hamas and Hezbollah.
